BJP's Meenakshi Lekhi Refers To Jawaharlal Nehru While Defending Triple Talaq Bill

BJP leader Meenakshi Lekhi, while defending the Triple Talaq bill in parliament, said that Jawaharlal Nehru wanted to create a "secular state in a religious country". She went on to say the Prime Minister Narendra Modi is facing the same issue today. Defending the Triple Talaq bill, Ms Lekhi also spoke about the Hindu Code bill and how Jawaharlal Nehru was instrumental in introducing the bill.
