BJP's Jay Panda Defends Citizenship Act, Cites US, Europe Model
On Tuesday, it was the turn of the BJP to hold a pro-CAA rally in Chennai at the same spot where DMK had recently held a massive rally. While the opposition in the state is up in arms saying the law is discriminatory, unconstitutional as it excludes Muslims and Sri Lankan Tamil refugees, BJP's Vice President, the key speaker for the event, told NDTV that the CAA is catering to a particular situation and justified citing similar laws in the US and Europe.
