Sonepur Fair, held annually for centuries at the confluence of the Ganga and Gandak rivers in Bihar's Saran district. The Mela began as an animal fair, and animals are still traded here, but it has evolved into what is claimed to be Asia's largest such fair - earning it the nickname of a 'village mall.'
