Bankipur Bypoll: BJP and Prashant Kishor Lock Horns Amid Rigging Allegations

The Bankipur Assembly bypoll in Bihar witnessed an intense political battle between the BJP and Jan Suraaj founder Prashant Kishor, with around 33.5% of the 3.8 lakh voters casting their ballots till 5 pm. The election, necessitated by the resignation of BJP leader Nitin Nabin, was overshadowed by allegations from both sides. Prashant Kishor accused the police of illegally detaining Jan Suraaj workers and acting in favour of the BJP, while the BJP countered by alleging that Kishor's party had brought in "fake voters." The high-voltage contest has further intensified Bihar's political landscape ahead of future elections.
