Badminton News | Tanvi Sharma After Becoming the Youngest Ever to Win Taipei Open Badminton Title

India's rising teenage star Tanvi Sharma defeated sixth seed Nguyen Thuy Linh of Vietnam 21-16, 21-16 and become the youngest ever winner of women's singles title of Taipei Open on Sunday. At just 17 years and 223 days old, Sharma beat the mark set by former Taiwanese star Tai Tzu Ying. Tai, who retired in 2025, had won the same title when she was 18 years and 109 days old. Speaking after her win on Sunday in Taipei, Sharma said, "didn't expect to win the title over here, but I thought will give it my best. I was nervous for sure." Tanvi Sharma also earned praise from her super star compatriot PV Sindhu.
