Assam Flood Death Toll Rises To 85 As Over 1.36 Lakh People Continue To Reel Under Monsoon Fury

Assam continues to battle a severe flood crisis as the death toll has climbed to 85, with the monsoon wreaking havoc across the state. More than 1.36 lakh people have been affected, while over 160 villages remain inundated. Thousands have been displaced, hundreds of homes have been damaged or waterlogged, and rescue and relief operations are continuing in the worst-hit districts. Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has visited flood-affected areas to review the situation and oversee relief measures as authorities work to provide assistance amid persistent flooding and landslides.
