Members of the Kashmiri diaspora, human rights activists, and community representatives staged a protest outside the Pakistani Consulate in Bradford, expressing concern over human rights violations in Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (PoK). The demonstrators accused Pakistani authorities of using excessive force against people participating in peaceful protests in the region. Protest organisers claimed that several civilians were killed and injured during firing by Pakistani security forces in PoK, especially in Rawalakot. The protests in PoK were sparked by demands for basic rights, economic relief, affordable electricity, and greater accountability. Demonstrators and activists allege that security crackdowns on the protests over the past two days have reportedly killed more than 100 people and left many others injured.
