AI Summit Protest | Congress MP Backs Youth Congress Protest, Rejects 'Anti-National' Tag
Shafi Parambil, MP from Kerala representing the Indian National Congress, defended protests by Youth Congress workers near the AI summit venue, saying dissent is an essential part of democracy. Speaking to NDTV, Parambil argued that protests around major international events are common worldwide and cited examples such as demonstrations during the FIFA World Cup and G20 Summit meetings. He said the government should not criminalize peaceful dissent, especially when no violence or damage to public property occurred.
