After recovering from COVID-19, 300 members of the Islamic sect Tablighi Jamaat have signed up to donate their plasma for treatment of coronavirus patients. Four Tablighi Jamaat members from the Sultanpuri quarantine centre have already donated their plasma. Sources said 300 members have signed up for plasma donation and filled up consent forms issued by the Delhi government. Plasma therapy involves the transfusion of plasma from a convalescent coronavirus patient to a critical patient. The blood of a recovering patient is rich in antibodies produced by the body to fight the virus, which are expected to help the critical patient recover.
