After Assaulting Doctors, Ramesh Mhatre 'Disappears' | IMA Announces Statewide Strike

The Maharashtra doctor assault case has taken another dramatic turn.

Nearly two weeks after the shocking assault on doctors inside a hospital, Ramesh Mhatre, the Shinde Sena corporator accused in the case, is reportedly out of the public eye after being granted bail. Sources tell NDTV that Mhatre has vacated his residence, his office remains locked, and he has been advised to stay away from the public spotlight.

Meanwhile, the doctors who were allegedly assaulted continue to remain traumatised, with several yet to return to work. The incident has triggered widespread anger within the medical fraternity.

The Indian Medical Association (IMA) has announced a 24-hour statewide strike across Maharashtra, exempting emergency services, demanding stronger action and justice for the assaulted healthcare workers.
