The Bombay High Court will hear poet-activist Varavara Rao's wife's plea to shift him to a hospital from Taloja Jail in Navi Mumbai where he is currently being held. Citing his worsening health, the petition was filed and the Bombay High Court had ordered a team of doctors to examine him. The court was to hear the matter on Tuesday but technical problems led to the matter being deferred till today and it will be heard in physical court today, a rare occurrence in these Covid times. Senior advocate Indira Jaising, who is arguing for Varavara Rao, has raised several questions on the report. In the brief hearing on Tuesday before it was adjourned for technical reasons, she told the court that "the report has not been brought on record till November 17. This is delaying tactic."
