Twitter Confirms It Intentionally Blocked Access for Third-Party Apps Like Tweetbot, Twitterrific

Twitter has finally confirmed that its move to block third-party apps like Tweetbot and Twitterrific was intentional. In a tweet, Twitter Dev account said that the Website was enforcing its “long-standing API rules,” which may lead to some apps not working.

Twitter’s Suspension of Third-Party Apps Intentional, Tweetbot Taken Down Again: Report

Twitter reportedly suspended third-party clients on purpose, including Tweetbot. According to a report citing Twitter’s internal Slack communication, the suspension was intentional and not because of a bug. Tweetbot's co-creator also claimed the same after the app briefly came back on after changing API keys, only to lose access again.
