Regional Hub Of Nsg

Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh will inaugurate the regional hub complex of the elite anti-terror force National Security Guard (NSG) at Ibrahimpatnam near here tomorrow.

In the event of a terror attack or aircraft hijack in South India, the National Security Guard commandos from Chennai would fly out of the city airport within 40 minutes to take on the militants given the new permanent structure for the National Security Guard Regional Hub at Nerkundram about 35 kilometres away from Chennai.

Over the next 48 hours these four new NSG centres will have about 100 Commandos each to begin with.

Tamil Nadu has become the first state in the country to kickstart the process of setting up a regional hub of the NSG.
