Union Home Minister Amit Shah had a meeting Sunday with Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal on the coronavirus situation, where it was decided to hold more "robust" contact tracing, revamp the entire containment zone strategy and strengthen medical services in areas most affected by the virus. India's coronavirus tally surged to 4,10,461 infections on Sunday morning as it registered the steepest single-day jump of 15,413 new patients, the Union Health Ministry said.
The Centre and the Delhi government agreed on Sunday to revamp the action plan to control the spread of the coronavirus disease (Covid-19) in the national capital, laying emphasis on the need for more effective containment and tracing efforts, widening the scope of detecting infections and intensifying social distancing and surveillance at the ground level to tackle the outbreak at a time when the case count has risen to 59,746. US President Donald Trump has claimed that Washington is trying to help India and China come out of a "very tough situation", overlooking the rejection of his offer last month by both neighbours.
