Great Overland Adventure's suggestion, get your passport ready and pack your suitcase. After you finish reading this you are likely to head to Central America! Here is #GLAadventure's picks of the must visit places.
Move over, sombreros, mariachi bands, tequila, and tacos! There's so much more to explore in Mexico. One of the best things is the variety of architectural beauty that can be found around this country. The second, of course, is enjoying the beach.
From Chihuahua to San Luis Potosi to San Cristobal and Oaxaca, there's something for everyone in Mexico.
#GLAadventure's Picks: When in Mexico, don't miss going to these places - Café Museo Café in San Cristobal and Chiapas; Mariachi Music at Guadalajara de Noche; Museo del Automóvil in Mexico city.
What's the best thing about travelling? Exploring the best places, but on a budget! Isn't it true?
For all the budget travellers out there, Guatemala will leave you speechless. Most of the hostels there will cost you just $10 or less. So, what are you waiting for? Just pack your bags, book your flight tickets and head straight there.
#GLAadventure's Picks: Don't miss going to Antigua in Guatemala, it is the best-preserved Spanish colonial city in Central America.
And for all the petro-heads there is something more in Antigua which you will definitely love - Mario Sueiras's Car Collection. Here's a list of mean machines that caught our eyes there - Ford GT40, Shelby Cobra, Mustang GT 350, Chevrolet Corvette, Pontiac GTO, Ford Thunderbird, Chevrolet Camaro Z28, Jaguar E-Type, Porsche 912, 356B, and Ferrari 308, to name a few.
Visiting Costa Rica is something like going on a holiday to Heaven. Quite literally!
Did you know ninety percent of the area consists of only virgin forests? This means, Costa Rica is an absolute treat for anyone who loves forests and everything green. It's like an Ecotourism Paradise!
Don't forget to pull out your camera as you will see many species of plants, mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians, and insects.
The town of Copán Ruinas, often simply called Copán, is one of the most charming and history lovers paradise in Honduras.
Discovered in 1570 by Diego García de Palacio, the ruins of Copán is one of the most important sites of the Mayan civilization.
The details which you will see in the carvings are quite impressive. Did you know, all the construction in this site has been done in stone as there's no evidence of any metal used by Mayans in their structures?
This is the place you visit for an adrenaline rush! #GLAadventure recommends - Leave everything and just head straight to Cerro Negro in Nicaragua for Volcano boarding.
Cerro Negro is the youngest volcano in Central America, and one that's also the most active in the region - it has erupted 23 times since its birth in 1850.
The most attractive thing here is the beauty of this jet-black mountain. It stands in perfect contrast to everything around it! The landscape apart, the reason Cerro Negro is special is because after about an hour hike to the peak, riders strap themselves in and then fly down the side of the volcano. That is called Volcano boarding.
While you may visit Panama to see the great Panama Canal, but soon after visiting this place you will realise there is so much more to see here.
Known as the 'Crossroads of the Americas,' Panama is the geographical point where North America meets South America and where the Pacific and Atlantic Oceans meet in the country's famed canal.
For people who love fishing, Panama is ‘the' place for them!
