The Dirty Picture is set against the colourful and entertaining backdrop of the fierce male-dominated South-Indian film industry of the 80s.
Vidya Balan chronicles the rise and fall of screen sensation "Silk", an ambitious starlet who grittily crawls her way to the top in showbiz.
Silk begins her journey in showbiz as a junior artist (or an "extra" as they were mostly known then) with nothing more than raw ambition to fuel her journey to stardom.
