Rajini, Deepika in Rana

The shooting for Rajinikanth's latest film Rana, commenced in Chennai from April 29.

Deepika Padukone makes her debut in Tamil films with Rana. She will play the Southern superstar's leading lady in the film.

Sonu Sood and Ileana D'Cruz are among the other prominent members of the cast.

The shooting commenced with a puja by Rajinikanth along with the cast and the crew.

The magnum opus has a reported budget of over Rs 100 crore.

A R Rahman will score the music and the film will be released in Tamil, Hindi and Telugu.

Rana is produced by Eros International. The film is directed by K S Ravikumar.

The film promises stunning SFX with Rajinikanth's daughter Soundarya and Emmy Award winner Charles Darby in charge.
