Kapil revealed that while audiences first discovered him through local Laughter Club performances, it was Dharmendra who became his biggest supporter, even waiting nearly two hours in Toronto just to watch Kapil perform. The gesture left a long-lasting impact on him, strengthening a bond that went far beyond the screen.
Kapil Sharma also spoke about a treasured voicenote in which Dharmendra had blessed his show and called it a memory that he continues to hold close. As a tribute to both his own late father and Dharmendra, Kapil sang the emotional song “Chithi Na Koi Sandesh”, leaving the audience and judges visibly emotional.

For the uninitiated, the late superstar Dharmendra died on November 24, at the age of 89. He had been put on a ventilator in mid-November, after he faced breathing difficulties.
He was soon discharged from the hospital and was brought back home, where his treatments continued.
