Krushna Abhishek has chosen to stay away from the ongoing controversy surrounding his uncle Govinda and aunt Sunita Ahuja. The comedian was recently spotted at Mumbai airport with Kiku Sharda when paparazzi tried to ask him about the family matter. Krushna politely made it clear that he did not want to comment and asked them to keep the questions light.
The two comedians were on their way to Udaipur when Krushna told the paparazzi, “Mama ka koi sawal mat poochhna. Maine dekha bahut footage le rahe log hamare ghar ki baat karke."
Krushna then explained why he does not want to speak about the matter in public. He said, “Ghar ki baat ghar mein rehni chahiye. Mujhe bilkul pasand nahi hai ki baaki log itni baat kar rahe hain, pata nahi kyun. Woh mere mama hain, toh main apni taraf se ye baat kabhi nahi karunga. I love my mami too much, definitely mama bhi. Bas Bhagwan kare sab solve ho jaaye. (Things within the family should stay within the family. I really don't like the fact that other people are talking about it so much; I don't know why. He is my maternal uncle, so I would never talk about this from my side. I love my aunt very much, and definitely my uncle too. I just hope God resolves everything.)"
His comments come amid a series of reports about Govinda and Sunita's marriage. The issue picked up after Govinda was spotted at the airport with his upcoming film Roopa co-star Komal Rani Swarnkar. Sunita later referred to Govinda as her “sugar daddy” while speaking about the situation. Govinda subsequently shared a video denying the claims.
The controversy grew further after reports that Sunita had filed for divorce. The petition was later withdrawn on August 19, with Govinda's manager confirming the development. Soon after, Rakhi Sawant put Sunita's call on loudspeaker during a media interaction. During the conversation, Sunita reportedly said she withdrew the divorce petition because Govinda had been planning to get married.
Govinda and Sunita got married in March 1987. They initially kept their marriage private and made their relationship public after welcoming their daughter Tina in 1988. They later became parents to their son Yashvardhan in 1997.
