About Inner Manipur

The Inner Manipur Lok Sabha constituency consists of 32 assembly seats: Khundrakpam, Heingang, Khurai, Khetrigao, Thongju, Keirao, Andro, Lamlai, Thangmeiband, Uripok, Sagolband, Keisamthong, Singjamei, Yaiskul, Wangkhei, Sekmai, Lamsang, Konthoujam, Patsoi, Langthabal, Naoriya, Pakhanglakpa, Wangoi, Mayang Imphal, Nambol, Oinam, Bishenpur, Moirang, Thanga, Kumbi, Lilong, Thoubal and Wangkhem. The Sekmai seat is reserved for candidates belonging to scheduled caste category.

In 2014, Congress's Thokchom Meinya was elected to the 16th Lok Sabha from the Inner Manipur constituency. Mr Meinya is in his third term of being the MP of Inner Manipur.

In 2004 he had succeeded Bharatiya Janata Party or BJP)s three-time elected MP Chaoba Singh. In 2014 he had defeated CPI candidate Moirangthem Nara by a margin of 94,674 votes. Moirangthem Nara is representing the CPI this time as well.

For the 2019 elections, Congress has fielded Oinam Nabakishore Singh as its candidate. BJP has fielded Rajkumar Ranjan Singh.
