CGHS clarifies that wellness centres will remain open during the NEET PG 2026 duty period.

The Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS) has clarified that its wellness centres will continue to operate as per their regular schedule, dismissing a notice that claimed the centres would remain closed from August 27 to 31 due to NEET PG 2026 examination-related duties. The clarification comes after an alleged notice, carrying the CGHS name and logo, was circulated with a claim that medical officers would be deployed for NEET PG examination duty, leading to the temporary closure of wellness centres.

The Directorate General of CGHS said the circulated notice was not issued or approved by the organisation. It described the information as false and asked beneficiaries not to believe or share it.

According to the official clarification, all CGHS Wellness Centres will remain functional during the mentioned period and provide services according to their prescribed working hours.

CGHS also assured beneficiaries that official duty assignments involving its personnel would be handled through proper administrative arrangements. Such deployments, it said, would not affect the availability of healthcare services at the wellness centres.

The directorate has asked its additional directors to ensure that the clarification reaches all wellness centres and beneficiaries under their respective areas.

Officials have also been directed to make suitable staffing and duty arrangements to maintain uninterrupted services. CGHS offices and officials have been instructed not to display or circulate the unauthorised notice.

CGHS said the use of its name and logo without authorisation is being taken seriously. People who have information about the origin or circulation of the false notice have been asked to report it to the concerned authorities for appropriate action.

CGHS beneficiaries and the general public have been advised to ignore the false closure notice and verify important updates only through official channels.

Information related to CGHS services can be checked on the official CGHS website, the myCGHS 2.0 application, or by contacting the concerned CGHS authorities.
