Jamia Millia Islamia Free UPSC Coaching 2026: Jamia Millia Islamia's Residential Coaching Academy (JMI-RCA) has opened the online application window for its Civil Services Coaching Programme 2026-27 from today. The entrance test for admission to the free residential coaching programme will be conducted on June 6 across 13 cities, including Delhi, Jaipur, Srinagar, Jammu, Hyderabad, Guwahati, Mumbai, Patna, Kolkata, Lucknow, Bengaluru, Calicut, and Ranchi.
Interested and eligible candidates can submit their applications through the official admission portal at admission.jmi.ac.in.

The free coaching programme, along with hostel facilities, aimed to prepare aspirants from minority communities, SCs, STs, and women.
Exam Pattern and Selection Process
The written examination format aligns with the UPSC examination and comprises two papers: General Studies (objective type) and Essay writing. Both papers will be available in English, Hindi, and Urdu.
The exam will evaluate candidates' general awareness, reasoning ability, comprehension, and structured expression.
Paper pattern And Marking Shceme
- There would be negative marking for objective-type questions in the test. One-third of the marks will be deducted for a wrong answer.
- The Entrance Test Paper would be divided into two parts: Paper-1 and Paper-2
- Paper-1 would have objective-type questions. There would be 60 questions, and the total marks for this section would be 60 (60 * 1 = 60) This paper will also include CSAT questions. The students may take the question paper with them. There will be negative marking as per the UPSC norm.
- Paper 2 would consist of Essay writing, for which the total allotted marks would be 60. The candidate would be required to write two essays (30 * 2 = 60)
- The total time allotted for both the papers would be three (3) hours.
- The essay copies of only top 900 students will be assessed based on MCQ test marks (Paper-1).
- The total marks of the Personality Test (Interview) would be 30. The interviews will be held offline only. The list of the candidates who qualify for the Personality Test (Interview) will be uploaded in the website, with the date of interview.
- In case of a tie, the higher marks in the interview would be taken as the basis of selection. If there is still a tie, the younger candidate (age-wise) will get the seat.
- Five per cent of the seats will be reserved for the Physically Handicapped candidates as per the reservation policy of Jamia Millia Islamia.
Eligibility
- Only those candidates who have already completed their Graduation and are eligible to apply for the Civil Services Examination 2027 can apply for the RCA-JMI Entrance Test.
- Those who are pursuing any regular course from any institution or working in any organisation would not be entitled to admission at RCA-JMI.
What would the free coaching offer
The free coaching will include (a sessions on General Studies, CSAT and select optional papers, (b) Test Series, Answer evaluation, Discussions and Essay writing practice, will be part of the curriculum.
The academy will also conduct mock interviews and brainstorming sessions for those who qualify for the Civil Services Main examination.
- The Test Series for Prelims will be tentatively scheduled from January 2027 to May 2027.
- The Test Series for Mains will be tentatively scheduled from June 2027 to August 2027.
Library facility and Hostel accommodation
- Air-conditioned library facility is provided.
- There are 100 seats available through the entrance test.
- Hostel accommodation is compulsory and will be provided to all the admitted students.
- In case of shortage, hostel seats may be allotted in a phased manner strictly based on merit determined by the entrance test.
- RCA reserves the right to reduce the intake if sufficiently deserving candidates are unavailable. Similarly, if a student gets admitted in RCA-JMI but remains absent from the academy for more than a week (without any prior permission to the office), RCA-JMI reserves the right to forfeit his/her seat.
