CBSE OSM Issues: Class 12 students have raised alarms after discovering multiple inconsistencies in the Central Board of Secondary Education's (CBSE) On-Screen Marking (OSM) evaluation system, including full answers recorded as blank pages, correct one‑mark MCQs receiving only 0.5 marks, and other apparent marking anomalies. Complaints surfaced on social media following the release of scanned evaluated answer sheets and marks.
A user shared images of CBSE 12th evaluated answer book pages with student answers displayed as "blank" in the evaluated scan.
Another student shared the instance of one‑mark objective questions (MCQs) being awarded 0.5 marks despite the response matching the official answer key.
However, users have pointed out that it could be due to spelling errors from the student side.
With students waiting for their scanned copy of answer sheets, parents have expressed that their children received less than what they expected.
The CBSE re-evaluation process has also come under criticism as several students and parents report unusual payment glitches on the official portal. Several screenshots circulating online showed abnormal fee amounts appearing on the CBSE portal.
