Vietnamese electric vehicle manufacturer VinFast has announced that it will continue its complimentary charging initiative for customers in India, Indonesia and the Philippines for an extended period. The company confirmed that the programme will now remain in place until March 31, 2029, further supporting its efforts to encourage electric vehicle adoption in these markets.

The extended policy applies to all owners of VinFast electric vehicles in the three countries. Customers will be able to charge their vehicles without cost at the charging infrastructure developed and operated by V-Green. The benefit will be available not only to new buyers but also to existing vehicle owners.

The scheme also covers users operating vehicles for mobility services, including drivers working on the Green SM ride-hailing network. By eliminating charging expenses for a significant period, VinFast aims to make EV ownership more appealing and reduce reliance on conventional fuel-powered vehicles.

Alongside the extended charging offer, VinFast's parent company Vingroup has introduced a limited-period programme titled "Trade Gas for Electric." The initiative is aimed at encouraging customers to shift from petrol-powered vehicles to electric mobility.
Under this campaign, buyers switching from older gasoline vehicles can receive an additional 3 percent discount on VinFast electric cars and 5 percent off electric scooters. The programme will run from March 11 to March 31, 2026, and can be combined with other promotional offers available in each market.

Extending this policy for another three years is the next step in our strategy to accelerate the adoption of electric vehicles. VinFast believes that when operating costs are optimized to nearly zero, consumers will have greater confidence and motivation to switch to green mobility, while also contributing to the greening of transportation systems in these countries."
