Volkswagen is gearing up for an action-packed 2026 in India, preparing both updated and completely new models for launch. The company has just taken the wraps off its first entry for this year - Volkswagen Tayron R-Line, and it announced that 4 more models are in the queue to enter the showrooms in 2026. The company shared a teaser image, which shows all the upcoming cars, but donning veils. Nevertheless, the silhouettes give a strong hint at what we should be expecting. Based on what we know so far, here's a quick deep dive on the four Volkswagen models headed our way.

1. Volkswagen Taigun Facelift

First, it is the Volkswagen Taigun facelift, bringing refreshed styling, new bumpers, and cosmetic tweaks, along with a likely upgrade to the cabin materials and feature list. Expect Volkswagen to introduce a virtual cockpit for the lower trims, and a slew of features as standard in a similar fashion as the recently-revealed Skoda Kushaq facelift. Moreover, the Taigun facelift could come with a panoramic sunroof and a new 8-speed torque converter automatic transmission for the 1.0L TSI motor.

2. Volkswagen Virtus Facelift

The second on the list is the Virtus facelift. Talking of the changes, it could sport a more aggressive grille, sharper LED DRLs, and mild updates to the rear profile. Inside, the Virtus is expected to get a slightly updated cabin theme with new upholstery and a larger 10-inch fully-digital instrument cluster on more variants. The Volkswagen Virtus could be launched by mid this year.

3. Volkswagen Tera

A smaller SUV silhouette visible in the images is the Volkswagen Tera, hidden under the cover. Well, the Tera to Volkswagen is what the Kylaq is to Skoda. The sub-4m compact SUV is anticipated to fill the shoes for the Polo. It will rival the likes of the Maruti Suzuki Fronx, Kia Sonet, and Tata Nexon. The SUV will share its underpinnings with the Kylaq, but with VW's distinct styling language.

4. Volkswagen ID.Tiguan

The fourth car in the image looks quite like the Volkswagen ID.4. The Volkswagen ID.4, expected to arrive in India as the ID. Tiguan. Built on VW's MEB platform, the updated model adopts the more efficient APP 550 motor, paired with battery options of 52 kWh, 77 kWh, and 82 kWh. The RWD Pro makes around 282 Hp and 550 Nm, while the AWD GTX variant delivers up to 340 Hp via a dual-motor setup. Depending on the battery and trim, the ID.4 offers up to 480-541 km (WLTP) on a single charge.
