Triumph Motorcycles has marked a significant achievement in India, crossing the milestone of one lakh units on the road, a feat accomplished in just over two years since its collaboration with Bajaj Auto took shape. This partnership, which formally began operations in 2023, has rapidly scaled up Triumph's presence in the premium motorcycle segment, underscoring the brand's growing appeal among Indian riders. Bajaj Auto, responsible for local manufacturing and distribution, has played a pivotal role in ensuring Triumph's accessibility and reach across the country.
One of the most visible outcomes of this alliance has been the aggressive expansion of Triumph's retail footprint. From a modest start, the brand now boasts more than 230 dealerships spread across 200 towns, making it one of the most widely available premium motorcycle networks in India. Beyond sales, Triumph has also invested in cultivating a strong rider community, reinforcing its identity as a lifestyle brand rather than just a motorcycle manufacturer.

The partnership itself was first announced back in 2017, but it was only in mid-2023 that the first co-developed motorcycles- the Speed 400 and Scrambler 400 X - were introduced. These entry-level models, along with newer additions like the Speed T4, Scrambler 400 XC, and Thruxton 400, have been instrumental in driving volumes. While Triumph has not disclosed exact sales contributions from the 400cc range, it is evident that these locally produced motorcycles have been central to achieving the milestone.

Interestingly, the impact of this collaboration extends beyond India. The 400cc line-up is exported to nearly 20 international markets, including Japan, Australia, Mexico, Taiwan, and South Korea, further strengthening Triumph's global footprint. With its rapid growth trajectory, expanded retail presence, and a diverse product portfolio, Triumph's partnership with Bajaj has firmly established the brand as a major player in India's premium motorcycle space.
Speaking on the achievement, Manik Nangia, President, Probiking, Bajaj Auto, said, "Reaching 1 lakh Triumph motorcycles on Indian roads within just 2.5 years is a proud milestone for us. Triumph customers are discerning riders who have strongly endorsed our engineering with our modern classic motorcycles. The brand has always been built for those who know the difference, and we remain committed to strengthening our premium ecosystem and deepening our engagement with riders across the country."
