Skoda is gearing up to introduce the facelifted Kushaq in India next week. In the run-up to the launch, the company has released two teasers that provide a glimpse of the SUV's updated silhouette and lighting elements. The latest teaser goes a step further, showcasing the front and rear light units while hinting at the design direction of the refreshed model.

Interestingly, Skoda has chosen to frame the teaser with a cultural reference. The visuals are set against a mustard field backdrop reminiscent of scenes from the Bollywood classic Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (DDLJ). The SUV is shown under a flowing green cover with the tagline "Get ready to fall in love." This approach suggests that Skoda is positioning the Kushaq facelift not just as a routine update but as a product meant to evoke an emotional connection with buyers.

From the teaser, some of the exterior changes are already visible. At the front, the facelifted Kushaq appears to feature a full-width LED daytime running light strip, complemented by sharper LED elements and a revised grille design. Together, these updates give the SUV a more contemporary and assertive look compared to the outgoing version. At the rear, illuminated SKODA lettering and a connected LED light bar stand out as key changes, aligning the Kushaq with Skoda's latest global design language and lending it a wider, more premium stance.

Inside, the updates are expected to focus on enhancing comfort and technology to keep pace with newer rivals in the segment. Likely additions include a panoramic sunroof, a fully digital instrument cluster, and a larger touchscreen infotainment system with improved graphics. These upgrades aim to make the cabin more appealing and competitive in a crowded market.

Mechanical changes are expected to be subtle but meaningful. The 1.5-litre TSI petrol variants could gain rear disc brakes, improving braking performance and handling. Higher-spec versions of both the 1.0-litre and 1.5-litre engines may also introduce Level 2 advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), such as adaptive cruise control and lane-keeping assist. However, early indications suggest that the 1.5-litre TSI engine might only be offered with a DSG automatic transmission, potentially dropping the six-speed manual option.
