BMW Motorrad has launched the new avatar of the BMW S 1000 R in India at Rs 19.90 lakh (ex-showroom). The hyper-naked motorcycle has received a bunch of performance and design upgrades over its previous iteration and will be available as a CBU.

Talking about the specs, the BMW S 1000 R is powered by a 999 cc, inline four-cylinder, oil/water-cooled engine producing 170 hp at 11,000 rpm and 114 Nm of torque at 9,250 rpm. The new BMW S 1000 R sprints from 0-100 km/h in 3.2 seconds and can achieve a maximum speed of 250 km/h.

The new BMW S 1000 R has received a bunch of changes over its predecessor. While it retains the split face LED design, it gets a revised bodywork. The noticeable changes also include a reworked tail section, a short and sporty license plate holder, as well as the turn signals and license plate lights at the rear are now a single unit.

The new BMW S 1000 R is offered in three colour schemes- Blackstorm Metallic, Bluefire/Mugiallo Yellow (Only with Style Sport), and Lightwhite Uni/M Motorsport (only with M package).

The hyper-naked motorcycle, based on the BMW S 1000 RR is packed with standard features like- Headlight Pro with daytime riding lights, M Quick action throttle, Engine Drag Torque Control (MSR), three riding modes (Rain, Road, Dynamic including Hill Start Control), 6.5 TFT display with connectivity, USB charging socket, full LED light, six-axis sensor box that includes ABS Pro and Dynamic Traction Control (DTC).

The brand is also providing customisable options for the S 1000 R, and customers can choose between the optional equipment Dynamic Package, Comfort Package, or M Sport package. The dynamic package includes Dynamic Damping Control, Pro riding modes, Shift Assistant Pro, and the engine spoiler. Comfort package consists of Keyless Ride, cruise control, heated grips, and tyre pressure control. The M Sport package consists of the colour M package, M Sport seat, M fuel filler cap, M lightweight battery, sports silencer, M Endurance chain, M GPS-Laptrigger, and M forged wheels or M Forged wheels.
