Mini has introduced a new commemorative model called the John Cooper Works 1965 Victory Edition, celebrating six decades since its rally triumph at Monte Carlo. The special edition pays tribute to the success achieved by driver Timo Makinen and co-driver Paul Easter in a Mini Cooper S back in 1965.
This limited-run model is based on the current three-door hatchback and will be produced at Mini's Oxford facility, with deliveries scheduled to begin in the second quarter of 2026. Alongside the petrol-powered versions, a fully electric JCW variant will also be offered in select markets, reflecting Mini's push toward electrification.

The exterior design draws inspiration from the rally car of the 1960s. Finished in Chili Red, it features a white hood stripe that continues across the roof and rear. A bold "52" graphic on the sides references the winning race number, while a discreet "1965" badge on the C-pillar reinforces the edition's heritage theme. Other exterior highlights include floating wheel hubs, exclusive 18-inch alloy wheels, a panoramic roof, and edition-specific JCW detailing. Illuminated door sills with "1965" lettering and a commemorative plaque inside the cabin further emphasize its special status.

Inside, the cabin combines sporty and sustainable materials. Black synthetic leather seats with red stitching are paired with recycled polyester and knitted fabric on other surfaces. The steering wheel carries a 1965 motif, while the key cap also bears the rally number. A panoramic glass sunroof is standard, adding to the premium feel.
Technology is a strong focus, with a head-up display, a central circular OLED screen running Mini Operating System 9, and support for voice commands. Drive modes such as Go-Kart and Green are available, while convenience features include a parking assistant, 360-degree camera, Harman Kardon audio, heated sports seats, and wireless charging.

Mini JCW 1965 Victory Edition: Powertrain
Performance options span three variants. The Cooper S uses a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine producing 204 bhp and 300 Nm, achieving 0-100 km/h in 6.6 seconds. The JCW petrol version delivers 231 bhp and 380 Nm, cutting the sprint to 6.1 seconds. The fully electric JCW variant produces up to 258 bhp, with a quicker 0-100 km/h time of 5.9 seconds.
