Maruti Suzuki India Limited launched the Victoris in the Indian market in September 2025. Come October 2025, the mid-size SUV seems to be in the initial stages of becoming the cash cow for the brand. Based on the October 2025 sales report, the latest model of the brand has outperformed its sibling Grand Vitara with sales of 13,496 units compared to the GV's 10,409 units during the same period.
While the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara is sold through Nexa outlets, the Victoris is available at Arena dealerships. Although it is still early to determine the exact reasons for Victoris's better performance, the brand's strategy to offer it at Arena dealerships seems to be paying off, as it makes the SUV more accessible to a broader range of consumers.

Additionally, the Maruti Suzuki Victoris is sold at a starting price of Rs 10.50 lakh (ex-showroom), while the Grand Vitara comes at Rs 10.77 lakh (ex-showroom), creating a perception of being a better offering considering the package of features offered with the respective models. However, both SUVs share the same powertrain, offering the option of petrol, CNG, and strong hybrid powertrains.
Despite Victoris' current success over its sibling, competition remains strong in the segment. The Hyundai Creta continues to enjoy its hegemony in the segment. The South Korean SUV registered sales of 18,381 units in October 2025, while other rivals like Kia Seltos and Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder were left far behind with sales of 7,130 units and 11,55 units, respectively.
