Maruti Suzuki India Limited has introduced its first electric vehicle for the Indian market, named the e-Vitara. Although the company has not officially announced the price of the SUV, a screenshot has surfaced on social media that suggests the price. Specifically, an image shared by Torque India on X reveals a screenshot from Maruti Suzuki's website, indicating that the listed price of the model is Rs 24.79 lakh (ex-showroom).
The authenticity of the screenshot cannot be verified because the prices do not appear on the official Nexa website. Therefore, Maruti Suzuki has not officially released the prices for the eVitara. The website listing is likely a technical error or a placeholder that was accidentally made live. The accuracy of the price is also questionable because the starting price is equal to the maximum price of the EV, as per the screenshot attached.

To further increase the doubts on accuracy, the quoted price of the Maruti Suzuki e Vitara, i.e., Rs 24.79 lakh (ex-showroom), makes it more expensive than its rivals in the market. Specifically, models like the Hyundai Creta Electric come at a starting price of Rs 18.02 lakh (ex-showroom), the MG Windsor EV, which comes at Rs 15.49 lakh (ex-showroom), the Mahindra BE6, which starts at Rs 18.90 lakh (ex-showroom), and the Tata Curvv EV at Rs 17.49 lakh (ex-showroom).
If Maruti Suzuki e Vitara turns out to have a price tag of Rs 24.79 lakh (ex-showroom), it will probably be difficult for the electric SUV to hold its ground against rivals. Considering a difference of over Rs 6 lakh in some cases. Ideally, Rs 24.79 lakh (ex-showroom) should be the price of the higher variants of the EV.
The Maruti Suzuki e Vitara will come with two options for battery packs: 49kWh and 61kWh, both featuring a front-wheel-drive (FWD) configuration. The ARAI-certified range for the larger battery pack reaches 543km. The e Vitara will be offered in three different trims. The entry-level Delta trim will include the 49kWh battery pack, while the Zeta and Alpha trims will be equipped with the larger battery.
