Mahindra Last Mile Mobility Limited has launched its latest electric three-wheeler, the Udo, at an introductory price of Rs 3,58,999, lower than its standard ex-showroom tag of Rs 3,84,299. The company, which highlights its position as India's leading electric commercial vehicle manufacturer, has designed the Udo with an airplane-inspired aesthetic. Its name is derived from the Hindi word meaning "to fly," underscoring the brand's intent to bring a sense of modernity and aspiration to the segment.
One of the standout aspects of the Udo is its full monocoque construction, a first in this category. This design promises stronger structural integrity and smoother ride quality compared to conventional autorickshaws. Developed by Pratap Bose and the Mahindra India Design Studio, the Udo carries a more premium look, with bold headlamps, a wide windshield, and stylish mirrors that set it apart visually. Inside, Mahindra has focused on comfort, introducing a "pilot seat" for drivers that is nearly 20% thicker than rivals, aimed at reducing fatigue during long hours on the road.
Passenger comfort has also been given attention, with ample headroom and legroom, along with seating designed to mimic a first-class experience. Suspension duties are handled by an independent rear setup and dual-fork front suspension, which together promise better stability and ride comfort, especially on uneven roads.
The Udo also introduces several practical features. Regenerative braking helps extend range, while a reverse throttle - unique in this segment - improves speed control. Hill Hold Assist and a Creep function add convenience in traffic and on inclines, ensuring smoother operation in challenging conditions.

Powering the Udo is an 11.7 kWh lithium-ion battery pack (IP67-rated for durability) paired with a PMS motor producing 10 kW of peak output and 52 Nm of torque. Mahindra claims a real-world range of 200 km, with an ARAI-certified figure of 265 km. Drivers can choose between three modes - Range, Ride, and Race - depending on their needs. In Race mode, the Udo can reach a top speed of 55 km/h, making it versatile for both city commutes and longer trips.
