Mahindra, recently launched the XUV 7XO and has now turned its attention to refreshing one of its most successful SUVs-the Scorpio N. A camouflaged test mule of the facelifted model was recently spotted at Chennai Airport, and the details visible suggest that the SUV is already close to production readiness. Both exterior and interior updates point toward a more refined and feature-rich offering while retaining the rugged character that has made the Scorpio N a bestseller.

On the outside, the facelift doesn't stray too far from the current design language. The upright stance and bold proportions remain intact, but subtle tweaks give the SUV a cleaner look. The dual-pod LED projector headlamps and LED fog lamps with C-shaped silver surrounds continue to dominate the front fascia, though the grille appears to have been slightly reworked for a sharper finish. The bumper edges look less sculpted, lending a smoother appearance overall. From the side, the silhouette is familiar, with the same window line and pull-type door handles. The SUV rides on 18-inch alloy wheels, now sporting a fresh spoke design that adds a touch of modernity without altering the overall stance.

The most significant changes are inside the cabin. The facelifted Scorpio N  is expected to introduce a floating 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, replacing the older 8-inch unit, and a fully digital 10.25-inch driver's display in place of the analogue dials. These upgrades instantly elevate the cabin's premium feel.

Other expected additions include a Harman Kardon audio setup with Dolby Atmos, a panoramic sunroof, ventilated second-row seats, driver's seat memory function, a 360-degree camera, and six airbags as standard. Existing features such as keyless entry, push-button start, wireless charging, hill-hold assist, and Level-2 ADAS are likely to be retained.

Mechanically, Mahindra is expected to continue with the proven 2-litre turbo-petrol and 2.2-litre diesel engines. Both will be offered with 6-speed manual and automatic transmissions, while the diesel variant should keep its optional four-wheel drive system. This balance of familiar powertrains with modern technology ensures the Scorpio N facelift will appeal to loyalists while attracting new buyers looking for a more premium SUV experience.
