Mahindra & Mahindra has outlined an ambitious product roadmap, saying it plans to introduce 16 new SUVs across segments over the next few years. The Indian manufacturer also revealed that the range will include 10 internal combustion engine models and six electric vehicles.

The automaker's future lineup will consist of both all-new products and updated versions of existing models. Mahindra said this latest plan builds on the 16-model roadmap it had previously promised in 2024, while adding fresh detail on what customers can expect in the coming years.

Between 2024 and 2026 so far, Mahindra has expanded its portfolio with five ICE SUVs: the XUV 3XO, Thar Roxx, Bolero facelift, Bolero Neo facelift, and XUV 7XO. On the electric side, it has introduced the BE 6, XEV 9e, XEV 9S, and XUV 3XO EV. With these launches already in place, the company has now added nine more models to its forecast.

The next phase of Mahindra's expansion will be largely based on the NU_IQ platform, which was unveiled last year and previewed through four concepts: Vision S, Vision T, Vision X, and Vision SXT. The platform has been designed to support both petrol and diesel powertrains as well as electric options. The first production models based on this architecture are expected to arrive in 2027.

Mahindra is also preparing its manufacturing network for the new products. Its Chakan facility in Maharashtra is being readied for the NU_IQ platform, while the upcoming Nagpur plant is expected to become a key production hub for the Vision models. The new plant is scheduled to become operational in the calendar year 2028.

Among the models likely to join the range are updates to existing SUVs. The Scorpio-N and facelift are expected later this year, while the Thar.e concept could eventually reach production. The BE 07 concept may also be considered for the assembly line, depending on Mahindra's final product plans.

The company is further working on capacity expansion across its plants and aims to add 17,500 units per month by the end of FY2027. Mahindra currently has an installed ICE vehicle capacity of 60,000 units per month and produces around 6,000 EVs monthly, with plans to increase that figure to 8,000 units.
