Honda Cars India has initiated the deliveries of the 2026 City hybrid variants following the launch on May 22, 2026. Marking the special occasion of the first delivery, the brand's top leadership handed over the first car to its new owner. President and CEO Takashi Nakajima, Advisor to the President Tasuku Tanaka, and Marketing and Sales Director Yujiro Sugino, along with Vice President Marketing & Sales Kunal Behl, were present on the occasion.
The video was shared on Instagram by Whitefield Honda, a dealership of the brand in Bengaluru, Karnataka. In the video, the top bosses at Honda Cars India can be seen participating in the delivery event. The short clip begins with the welcome of the leadership team in the dealership, later the new owner of the car can be seen taking the delivery of the model finished in black with the symbolic key and a gift hamper.

The black colour of the 2026 Honda City hybrid in the video is called the Crystal Black Pearl and is a new addition to the model. It comes along with other options, including Radiant Red Metallic, Obsidian Blue Pearl, Platinum White Pearl, Lunar Silver Metallic, and Meteoroid Gray Metallic.

Currently sold at a starting price of Rs 12 lakh (ex-showroom), the City is one of the major sedans in its segment. It competes against models like Volkswagen Virtus, Skoda Slavia, and Hyundai Verna in the Indian market. In the latest version it gets a fresh along with revisions on the inside.
Regarding the equipment, a 360-degree camera and ventilated front seats are new features added. Additional highlights include an 8-speaker audio system, ambient lighting, wireless connectivity for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a wireless phone charging pad, connected car technology, a sunroof, an electric parking brake, and a rear windscreen sunshade. The City maintains its Level 2 ADAS suite, featuring a lane-watch camera, rain-sensing wipers, hill-start assist, and 6 airbags.
On the performance side, the 2026 City utilizes the 1.5-litre naturally aspirated four-cylinder petrol engine, which delivers 121 hp and 145 Nm of torque. This engine is available with either a 6-speed manual transmission or a 7-step CVT. The 1.5-litre strong-hybrid powertrain produces 126 hp of power and 253 Nm torque with an e-CVT. Honda claims an efficiency of 27.26 kmpl with the hybrid system.
