Honda Motorcycles and Scooters India has quietly removed the CB300R from its official website, signaling a silent exit from the market. Originally launched in 2019 as a CKD unit, the bike was first discontinued in 2020 following the BS6 transition. It made a comeback in 2022, but has now been pulled from the lineup once again.

The Honda CB300R was regarded as one of the lightest bikes in the segment (146 kg). Powered by a 286cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine, capable of churning out 31.1hp at 9,000rpm and 27.5 Nm of torque at 7,500rpm, it was the most affordable liquid-cooled motorcycle present in the brand's lineup in India. Regarding the reason behind the CB300R's discontinuation, several possibilities arise. Honda may be clearing space in its lineup for the much-anticipated Rebel 300, which shares the same engine as the CB300R. With both bikes positioned in a similar price bracket, internal competition could be a concern. Since both models already meet current emission standards, regulatory compliance is unlikely to be the driving factor behind the CB300R's exit.

Honda has yet to clarify why the CB300R was taken off its official website, leaving its future in India uncertain. In recent months, the bike was priced competitively, especially after the implementation of GST 2.0, with its last listed ex-showroom price in Delhi at Rs 2.19 lakh. Despite this adjustment, the CB300R struggled to gain traction in the market, following years of relatively high pricing that limited its appeal.
