Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) has announced a recall for its premium CB1000 Hornet SP sold through the BigWing outlets in the Indian market. This recall aligns with the Japanese manufacturer's global service action, which affects motorcycles that rolled off the production line in 2025.

As stated by Honda, excessive heat radiating from the exhaust system might soften the paint on the seat surface, which could eventually lead to the gear change pedal pivot bolt becoming loose and possibly falling off. If this occurs, riders may have trouble shifting gears or may be unable to do so entirely, posing a safety risk, particularly during high-speed or urban riding.

To prevent this issue, Honda will inspect and replace the affected components at no cost, regardless of the motorcycle's warranty status. The recall service will be conducted solely at Honda BigWing Topline dealerships throughout India beginning in January 2026. Honda says this proactive move reinforces the brand's focus on customer trust, safety, and ownership experience.

Honda, along with its BigWing dealers, will begin reaching out to customers through phone calls, emails, and SMS starting today. Moreover, owners can verify their VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) on the official Honda website. To minimize delays at service centers, Honda recommends that customers schedule their service appointments in advance.

The premium Honda CB1000 Hornet SP features a 999cc inline four-cylinder engine that generates 155 bhp and 107 Nm, and comes with a slipper clutch, bi-directional quick-shifter, Honda Selectable Torque Control, and five riding modes for an enhanced performance experience.
