India's electric three-wheeler market saw strong growth in May 2025, showing a rising demand for eco-friendly transport options. Data from the Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations (FADA) indicates that sales increased significantly compared to both the previous month and the same month last year.

In May 2025, the market share of electric three-wheelers reached 63.2 percent, up from 62.7 percent in April 2025, and much higher than the 55.7 percent recorded in May 2024. Below is a detailed overview of how different electric three-wheeler vehicle manufacturers performed last month.

Electric Three-Wheeler Vehicle Retail: May 2025 Overview

In May 2025, Mahindra Group led the market with 6,588 units sold, a 16.97 percent increase from April's 5,632 units and a 45.24 percent rise compared to 4,536 units sold in May 2024. Most of these sales came from its subsidiary, Mahindra Last Mile Mobility Ltd, which sold 6,566 units, marking a 16.81 percent MoM increase and a 48.22 percent YoY increase. Mahindra & Mahindra had a remarkable MoM growth of 100 percent, rising from 11 units to 22 units, but saw a steep YoY decline of 79.25 percent.

Bajaj Auto Ltd sold 6,293 units, achieving a 14.23 percent MoM increase and a notable 166.88 percent YoY increase, one of the highest among top manufacturers.

YC Electric Vehicle experienced a 9.48 percent MoM growth but had a slight YoY decline of 2.51 percent, with 3,684 units sold.

Saera Electric Auto Pvt Ltd reported an 11.64 percent increase in MoM, although its YoY sales decreased by 18.96 percent, totaling 2,004 units. Dilli Electric Auto Pvt Ltd had a 1.37 percent MoM decline and a 21.40 percent YoY drop, selling 1,734 units.

TVS Motor showed a 31.07 percent MoM growth and a great 9,205.88 percent YoY increase, selling 1,582 units compared to just 17 units last year.

Mini Metro EV LLP had a 14.20 percent increase MoM but a 9.71 percent decrease YoY, with sales of 1,190 units. Unique International saw a 6.13 percent MoM growth, however, the YoY sales dropped by 13.67 percent, reaching 1,143 units.

Energy Electric Vehicles had a 2.56 percent decline MoM but a 6.93 percent YoY increase, selling 1,142 units. Sahni Anand E Vehicles Pvt Ltd achieved a 1.74 percent MoM growth and a strong 38.39 percent YoY increase, totaling 1,114 units.

Piaggio Vehicles Pvt Ltd faced a 9.27 percent MoM decline and a 24.75 percent YoY decrease, with 1,037 units sold.

J.S. Auto Pvt Ltd experienced a 14.58 percent drop in MoM, even though the YoY numbers grew by 10.47 percent, selling 1,002 units. Hotage India saw both MoM and YoY declines of 9.62 percent and 11.08 percent, respectively, selling 883 units.

In total, other manufacturers sold 36,622 units, reflecting a 2.91 percent MoM growth and a 16.01 percent YoY increase.
