Ather Energy Closing Market Share Gap With Ola Electric

Ather Energy has made improvements in its sales numbers and has narrowed the gap with Ola Electric, its key rival in the national market. According to Vahan data, Ather Energy has recorded sales of 13,187 units of electric two-wheelers in June 2025, which is quite close to Ola Electric's 13,712 unit sales in the month. The sales growth has led Ather to witness a 16.5 percent market share, marginally lower than Ola's 17.2 percent market share.

Ather's remarkable performance upswing is primarily attributed to the Rizta scooter, which now makes up close to 60% of the company's overall volumes and surpassed the 100,000-unit sales landmark within just a year of its market debut. Also, Ather Energy is further working on diversifying its offering across the nation and has expanded its footprint to 351 centers in India as of March 2025, intending to reach 700 by the end of FY26.

The Vaahan data states that the electric two-wheeler market itself saw a 21.6% growth in volumes for July 2025 over June. According to the reports, TVS Motors registered the highest market share of 22 percent in June 2025, followed by Bajaj, recording a marginal difference with 21.1 percent market share.

Ola Electric's market share dropped a lot over the past year, going from 41,803 units sold in July 2024 to only 13,712 units in July 2025, due to its focus on profitability. At the same time, Ather Energy grew stronger by expanding fast and making reliable products, especially the Rizta scooter, which comes at a competitive price of Rs 99,999 to Rs 1,14,500.
