Aprilia has officially discontinued the SXR 125 and SXR 160 maxi-scooters in India, along with the SR 160, though the move has been made without any formal public announcement by the brand or its parent company Piaggio India. The three models have effectively been phased out of the Aprilia lineup, with the SR 160 replaced by the newer SR 175, while the SXR models currently have no direct successor.
SR 160 Replaced by SR 175
The SR 160 has been quietly removed from Aprilia's scooter range after several model cycles and is now superseded by the SR 175. The newer 174.7cc air-cooled engine produces 12.9 hp and 14.14 Nm of torque, up from the SR 160's 11.27 hp and 13.44 Nm, making it noticeably more refined and punchier in city-running conditions. The SR 175 also adopts a full-colour TFT display shared with the Aprilia 457 series scooters, while retaining the familiar LED headlight and taillight treatment and largely similar styling cues.

SXR 125 and SXR 160 Axed
Unlike the SR 160, there is no direct replacement for the SXR 125 and SXR 160 maxi=scooters, which have been discontinued across Aprilia's Indian portfolio. The SXR models featured larger, more upright bodywork and 12-inch wheels compared with the 14-inch units on the SR line, giving them a taller, more maxi-scooter feel. Both SXR variants, however, used the same 125 cc and 160 cc engines as their respective SR counterparts, relying on form and stance rather than mechanical differentiation.

Current Aprilia Scooter Lineup
As of now, Aprilia's scooter range in India is centred around the SR 125 and SR 175, with the SR 125 priced at around Rs 1.14 lakh and the SR 175 at approximately Rs 1.21 lakh (ex-showroom). The absence of an SXR replacement means that buyers seeking a more maxi-scooter style Aprilia will have to consider the SR 175 or look to other brands in the 125-160 cc maxi-scooter segment.
