Renault has marked its entry into the mid-size SUV segment with the launch of the Duster in the country at a starting price of Rs 10.49 lakh (ex-showroom) and for the R Pass customers the price is Rs 10.29 lakh (pre-bookings). With the return of the popular nameplate in the market, the French automaker expects to improve its presence in the country. With bookings already underway, the deliveries are expected to begin soon. Competing against popular models like Hyundai Creta, Maruti Suzuki Victoris, and Kia Seltos, the SUV is expected to hold its place with the modern updates on offer. In terms of appearance, the India-spec Renault Duster is slightly different compared to the international version of the model. It retains the silhouette but spices things up with a fresh front fascia. Specifically, it gets a different design for the headlamp with eyebrow-shaped DRLs, which also doubles as indicators. The design of the grille is also new, along with a fresh design for the bumper with pixel styling fog lamps.

From the side, the SUV gets 18-inch alloy wheels with pull-style door handles and plastic cladding over the wheel arches. The rear door handles are embedded in the C-pillar, and the functional roof rails are also part of the design. Meanwhile, the rear end gets triangular tail lamps with an LED light bar covering the width of the tailgate. The rear bumper gives the SUV a rugged look with silver inserts.

The Renault Duster aims to target buyers seeking a premium cabin experience with a cabin specifically designed for the Indian market. It gets a new dashboard layout compared to the international-spec version, with a dual-screen layout and a three-spoke steering wheel. To make things better, the cabin gets soft-touch materials with the use of contrasting stitching on the upholstery. The brand also offers a dedicated button panel on the centre console and an adjustable front armrest with storage.

The new Renault Duster comes with a 10.1-inch infotainment with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, ambient lighting, ventilated front seats, six-way powered front seats, a powered tailgate, dual-zone climate control, push-button start/stop, and more.
The list of safety features for the Renault Duster includes elements like six airbags, electronic stability control, ABS with EBD, ISOFIX child seats, 360-degree camera, rear parking sensors, disc brakes on all four wheels, electric parking brake, and to round it all up, the SUV gets Level 2 ADAS.
2026 Renault Duster: Powertrain
The 2026 Renault Duster will offer several powertrain options. The top variant features a 1.8-liter four-cylinder direct-injection petrol engine, paired with two electric motors to create the E-Tech 160 hybrid setup, delivering 160 bhp and 172 Nm of torque.
There is also a 1.3-liter turbo-petrol engine (Turbo TCe 160) that produces 160 bhp and 280 Nm of torque, and it is available with both a six-speed manual transmission and a dual-clutch automatic option. The base model is equipped with a 1.0-liter three-cylinder turbo-petrol engine, generating 100 bhp and 160 Nm of torque, which comes exclusively with a six-speed manual gearbox.
