The upcoming facelift of the Maruti Suzuki Brezza has once more been seen undergoing road tests, with fresh footage circulating online. The video offers a closer look at the heavily camouflaged SUV's exterior and even a brief glimpse of its cabin. While design tweaks are expected, the highlight this time is inside - the gear lever appears to follow a six-speed manual shift pattern. If confirmed, this would mark the first time Maruti introduces a six-speed manual gearbox in its Indian portfolio.

Earlier prototypes had already revealed that the Brezza will adopt Maruti's new underfloor S-CNG layout, first showcased on the Victoris. That setup improves boot practicality by relocating the CNG tank beneath the floor. Now, attention has shifted to the petrol variant, which seems poised to bring mechanical upgrades alongside cosmetic changes.

Traditionally, Maruti models have been offered with five-speed manual gearboxes across engines ranging from the 1.0-litre K10 to the 1.5-litre K15. Automatic options have varied between AMTs, a four-speed torque converter, and a six-speed automatic. The addition of a six-speed manual could improve both efficiency and performance compared to the older five-speed unit. It may also help Maruti align with upcoming CAFE 3 emission and efficiency norms due in 2027. Whether this gearbox will be extended to smaller engines remains uncertain.

On the design front, the facelifted Brezza is expected to feature a refreshed front fascia with a revised grille and bumper. The dual-barrel LED projector headlamps appear unchanged, while the rear may receive updated tail lamps and a reworked bumper.

Inside, camouflage on the centre console hints at a redesign. Higher trims could replace the current 9.0-inch SmartPlay Pro+ system with the newer 10.1-inch SmartPlay Pro X unit introduced on the Victoris. Other premium features such as ventilated front seats and a powered driver's seat may also be borrowed from the larger SUV.
