Norris stayed in contention, while George Russell threatened late in the race as his Mercedes closed in, but Verstappen held firm to cross the line first, claiming the P1 trophy.

Though Norris later passed Russell, a late issue meant he finished 21 seconds behind Verstappen without challenging for victory.

George Russell secured a podium finish for Mercedes despite struggling with steering issues that almost cost him late in the race. His teammate Kimi Antonelli delivered a strong fight, climbing from P17 to finish fourth on the road, narrowly missing out.

Kimi Antonelli impressed with a strong drive, fending off Oscar Piastri and Charles Leclerc in the closing stages. However, a five-second penalty for a false start pushed the young Italian down to P5 in the final results, finishing just a tenth ahead of Leclerc, who slipped back late in the race.
Lando Norris still has a chance to become a world champion this season. If he finishes the Qatar Grand Prix with a lead of 26 points over his rivals, he will secure the title before the final race in Abu Dhabi. That means Norris could wrap up the championship one round early, turning Qatar into a potential history-making weekend for the young driver.
