Malaysia has embraced US help in jet search: Barack Obama
Kuala Lumpur: President Barack Obama says the U.S. has found Malaysia's government to be eager for assistance and forthcoming during the search for the missing Malaysian Airlines jetliner.

Obama says he understands the heartache of relatives who want answers. He says there should be transparency in what the investigation has and hasn't turned up.

Obama says the U.S. will continue providing all the assistance. He says Malaysia's government has been welcoming of that assistance.

Obama was speaking at a press conference Sunday with the prime minister of Malaysia after a private meeting.

The Malaysian government has been criticized for mismanaging the search. Relatives of the passengers protested outside the Malaysian Embassy in Beijing in the past week.

The Boeing 777 was carrying 239 people, mostly Chinese.
