Did the United States look the other way when it could have saved the life of Benazir Bhutto, Pakistan's former Prime Minister who was assassinated on the December 27, 2007? According to cables accessed by WikiLeaks, made exclusively available to NDTV, Benazir handed over a written request to the US Ambassador two months before she was killed asking for help to shore up her personal security because she feared for her life. The cables reveal that the US chose to look the other way, suggesting that Benazir should work constructively with the Musharraf government - the same organisation that Benazir insisted was out to kill her.
