As the country gears up for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, the CPM released its manifesto in New Delhi on Monday. Speaking at a press conference, CPM leader Prakash Karat said, "Our government will have pro-people economic policies and the manifesto appeals to people to defeat Congress and BJP." The Left leader, who had parted ways with the UPA government when it went ahead with the Indo-US nuclear deal, said that UPA has turned its back on the legacy of our independent foreign policy.
