Uganda has passed a new law making it a crime to identify as LGBTQ+. The law hands authorities broad powers to target gay Ugandans who already face discrimination and violence. Phyllis Wanjiru, a member of the LGBTQ+ community and an activist, said: "For us this means death. This means persecution."
