Turkey President Says Coup Attempt Foiled, 3,000 Detained
Over 250 people were killed and nearly 3,000 detained in a night of violence across Turkey when elements in the military attempted a coup, media reports said. President Tayyip Erdogan said the coup was defeated and the government was in charge after forces loyal to the government closed in on the rebel forces.
