India Matters: Drugged Innocence

Surveys say around 25,000 street children in Delhi are abusing substances and drugs. The number would go up if school-going children are included. For the first time, significant steps are now being taken to acknowledge and deal with the problem. The Delhi government has provided space for three de-addiction centres for children. The centres, the first of their kind in the country, are run by SPYM, an NGO.
