 Investors may wonder whether to invest in stocks of India's top listed real estate companies or are they better off buying a residential unit, to catch the upswing in the sector. ICICI Securities report titled - "Real Estate (Residential) - Navigating the hall of mirrors", makes for a telling report on the performance of real estate sector, pre and post COVID. While post pandemic and last year indicates record breaking sales numbers in terms of bookings for residential real estate companies, their stocks however, have lost momentum. Is it the headwinds of higher interest rates that could be a probable cause of the slowdown? Does it make sense to invest in property as an asset in such a scenario?
